Wesley Bissainthe also jumped way inside on the aforementioned 71 yard TD run. so he bears some blame, but it's much more Harris's fault. Team GradesOffense: B+Look, 41 points is a record allowed by UF in an opener. But, as I listed in the sections above, that included 2 FGs, a missed FG, a missed/dropped trick play which would have scored, and more. This offense can absolutely be better than this. AND THIS WAS DAMN GOOD!!!! Defense: B+Really only gave up one score — the late one on the Lagway drive. The other 10 points came after an interception (which Cam Ward said himself he should have never thrown), and on a busted/broken defense. But, the run defense (that one play notwithstanding) was stellar. Mertz and Lagway were under pressure all day long. Tackling was good. Energy was high. And, the best thing for me: the secondary played really, really well. I like it. I like it a lot. But, it can get better.

And, the processes of all the ST plays was proper. Just need that missed kick from one of the best kickers in the country. And slightly better coverage on punts and 1 kickoff where UF almost creased us. Coaching: B+Game operations in 1H weren't the best — especially with the long touchdown coming directly after a Miami-called timeout — but it got better pretty much immediately, and was lightyears ahead of the coaching UF has. Good, not great, but a step in the right direction. I'll give credit where it's due: this was very good. But, everyone would admit there's room for this to be even better. Which, for a team that just dropped 41 on Florida in the swamp, is a scary proposition for the rest of the country.That's it for this installment of The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.
